ABOUT
The obsidian of sound
Going by his two artistic names, Daniel Servien and Darkspeen Shore, he has dedicated most of his life to the art of sound and always searchs for new or different ways of developing and expolring sound in new ways.
Developing a love for music since he was very little thanks to his family and videogames, he decided to study music professionally and has never stopped growing as a musician ever since. Studying organ and later composition in the National Conservatory of Mexico.
Guided by his passion in videogames he started his studies in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM by its spanish acronym).
He keeps working every day to become a better musician, not being limited by a single genre. Always trying new things he often give us music that feels familiar, yet new. This attempt of creating instrumental and commercial music with 20th century's academic music theory is what gives him his characteristic sound: always a somber and dark, yet familiar and catchy tone to it.
Greatly inspired by musicians like Yann Tiersen, Susumu Hirasawa, DVAR and other academic musicians like Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ligeti, Ornstein, Sorabji, Reich, among many others.
He thinks this combination is what made videogame music so great and he's coming to show us that there are still many things to explore in sound.

“Art is but the protector of people's humanity. It leaves a record of our emotions, both bad and good, and translates them into an expression that can embrace other's soul to remind them we can be alike.”
